To obtain a polyolefin in an excellent heat-removing efficiency in good productivity by supplying an olefin and a specific saturated aliphatic hydrocarbon into a specific fluidized bed reactor and polymerizing the olefin under specific conditions.
This method for producing a polyolefin comprises supplying (A) an olefin and (B) a saturated aliphatic hydrocarbon of gas-liquid two phase state into a fluidized bed reactor maintaining polymer particles containing (C) a catalyst in a fluidized state, and polymerizing the olefin in a gas phase under conditions comprising distilling the liquid component B to remove the polymerization heat and maintaining a temperature difference (Tout-Tin) of ≤5°C between the temperature Tin of a gas containing the component B and supplied into the reactor and the temperature Tout of a gas containing the component B and discharged from the reactor. The method is preferably applied to the copolymerization of ethylene with a 4-10C α-olefin to produce a linear low density polyethylene having a density of 0.865-0.925 g/cm3.
