Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a method for obtaining cells for producing a polysaccharide, capable of producing a polysaccharide in much higher productivity, by improving a conventional method for manufacturing polysaccharide producing cells by subjecting a callus of plant cells extracellularly secreting a polysaccharide to subculture.
CONSTITUTION: In this method for manufacturing polysaccharide producing cells by subjecting a callus of plant cells extracellularly secreting a polysaccharide to subculture in a liquid medium, an operation in which the subculture is carried out in a liquid medium having a changed composition of medium components is included in the middle of the subculture. Polysaccharide producing cells having improved polysaccharide productivity are obtained by the subculture in a callus state in a liquid medium comprising medium components at least partially changed in the middle of the subculture.
