Title:
SHIP PROPULSION ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3476931
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To minimize a manufacturing cost of a propeller shaft system by suppressing excessive torque generated by unbalance of transmission torque.
CONSTITUTION: A ship propulsion engine, wherein output from a main engine 3 is transmitted to a pair of propeller shafts 5 via a distributor 19, is provided with a hydraulic clutch 7c having a reversing function and a reduction gear each interposed between the distributor 19 and each propeller shaft 5, a shaft torque detecting means 21 for each propeller shaft, a clutch slip quantity detecting means, and a revolution speed control means for the main engine 3. Consequently, the revolution speed control means is provided with a function for reducing the revolution speed of the main engine 3 with respect to a command speed from an operation handle in the case where the shaft torque of the propeller shaft exceeds an upper set value, and thereafter, for releasing the speed reduction in the case where the shaft torque falls lower than the lower set value.
