PURPOSE: To obtain the titled fiber having excellent liquid-retainability and liquid pickup property, by dissolving a PVC polymer mixture having a specific composition in a solvent and wet-spinning the resultant spinning dope under specific condition, thereby forming voids in the fiber in a state opened on the surface of the fiber.
CONSTITUTION: A composition composed of 30W70wt.% of PVC having a polymerization degree of 800W2,500 and 30W70wt.% of a post-chlorinated PVC having a polymerization degree of 600W1,800 and a chlorine content of ≥63wt.% is dissolved or dispersed in a solvent such as DMF to obtain a spinning dope. The dope is ejected into a coagulation bath containing 20W50wt.% of water and maintained at ≤40°C and the obtained coagulated fiber is washed in warm water maintained at ≤75°C. Finally, the fiber is washed in boiling water to obtain the objective fiber.
