Abstract:

To provide a method for producing soft ferrite or a porcelain electromagnetic wave-absorbing material on which soft ferrite is supported by firing the metal oxide mixture for the soft ferrite or the molded product for the porcelain electromagnetic wave-absorbing material to which the mixture for soft ferrite is added by using an inexpensive firing furnace in which the LPG gas that is used in the firing of chinaware.

The raw molded body is placed in a single furnace and fired in an oxidative atmosphere in the process wherein the firing temperature is raised up over about 1,150°C, than, kept in a reduction firing atmosphere containing carbon monoxide at about 1,150-1,350°C, then they are tightly sealed and cooled down. The raw molded product is a metal oxide mixture having the soft ferrite composition or a combination thereof with porcelain materials. The single furnace is a gas furnace. In the reduction firing atmosphere, the concentration of carbon monoxide is ≥1%.
