To provide a process for efficiently producing an allylamine copolymer by using a monoallylamine and an ethylenically unsaturated monomer as the feedstocks with the industrial advantage.
An acid adduct of a monoallylamine and an ethylenically unsaturated monomer are copolymerized in the presence of at least one of radical polymerization initiator selected from azo compounds represented by general formula (I) (R1 to R4 are same or different hydrocarbon groups, respectively or R1 and R2 and R3 and R4 may bond to each other respectively to form a ring, respectively and R5 and R6 are alkyl groups the same as or different from each other) and represented by general formula (II) (R7 to R10 are same or different hydrocarbon groups, or R7 and R8 and R9 and R10 may bond to each other respectively to form a ring, respectively and R11 and R12 are the same as or different from each other H or an alkyl group, respectively) to obtain the objective allylamine copolymer.
