PURPOSE: To eliminate the disposal problem of synthetic resin foam waste by a method wherein synthetic resin foam is cut or ground to form small particles which are, in turn, ground by a mixer to obtain a powdery material and a foaming material is added to and kneaded with the powdery material and the obtained kneaded mixture is subjected to pressure molding.
CONSTITUTION: At first, waste synthetic resin foam is cut or ground by a cutter such as a shredder or a grinder to form small particles with a particle diameter 10mm of less and the small particles are washed to remove the contaminate, rubbers and oils or fats mixed with the small particles. Next, the washed small particles are powdered by a mixer and the powdery material is immersed in water to float the powdery foam material to separate the same from impurities and the separated powdery foam material is taken out to be squeezed mechanically and dried by natural drying to obtain a powder with water content of 80-90%. This powder is kneaded with a foaming material as a molding raw material and the resultant kneaded mixture is subjected to pressure molding to be regenerated as a new synthetic resin foam product.
