Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the method for producing a salt mixture for hardening a steel member.
CONSTITUTION: This mixture is produced by first reacting 2.2 to 2.3 mols of urea with 1 mol of potassium carbonate at 350 to 400°C, crushing the reaction product into the powder having 125 to 250 μm average grain size, mixing the powder with the powder of sodium carbonate having 20 to 125 μm average grain size and pressing the mixture at 80 to 230°C under 65 to 100 kN/cm2 pressure into the compact.
