PURPOSE: To provide the process for production of the sheet which can form fine and sharp rugged patterns with good reproducibility on the surface and has the rugged patterns excellent in terms of design.

CONSTITUTION: An ionization radiation curing resin 1 is packed into recessed parts 3 of a roll intaglio printing 2 and a base material 4 is brought into contact therewith. The sheet base material 4 is pressed by a pressing roll 5 and the base material is irradiated with the ionization radiations 6 while the resin 1 is held between the sheet base material 4 and the roll intaglio printing 2 to form the sheet 11 having the rugged patterns. Further, the sheet 11 is subjected to wiping, by which colored ink is packed into the recessed parts 12 of the rugged patterns 10.
