PURPOSE: To obtain stockings free from static electricity by knitting conjugate yarn of two components having different heat shrinkabilities, leaving the knitted fabric to stand at a temperature lower than that during presetting and at high humidity before presetting to gradually shrink loops and to suppress entanglement.

CONSTITUTION: For example, a polyamide component constituting a sheath component 1a and a polyurethane component forming a core component 1b are bonded in a volume ratio of (40/60)-(80/20) to give conjugate yarn 1 having a ratio of exposure width of yarn surface to length of yarn circumference of neck part 1c of 2-25%, which is used to from stockings 10. Then the stockings are allowed to stand at 30-60°C at ≥70% humidity for at least 8 hours and preset at 60-100°C to give the objective stockings.
