PURPOSE: To provide a tablet type processing agent for fixing having strength to withstand preservation and transportation without affecting its processing performance and a process for producing such processing agent and further to provide the tablet type processing agent for fixing and bleach fixing having sufficient strength while having improved productivity by simplifying a granulation process.

CONSTITUTION: This tablet type processing agent is obtd. by compression molding a powder and granular material which contains ≤40wt.% powder and grains of 149μm in the grain size meeting the requirements specified in JIS(Japanese Industrial Standards), contains ≥65wt.% thiosulfate and has fixability for silver halide photographic sensitive materials. This process for producing such tablet type processing agent comprises compression molding the powder and granular material contg. powder and grains ≥65wt.% thiosulfate and contg. ≤40wt.% powder and grains of 149μm in the grain size meeting the requirements specified in JIS.
