To draw a pattern which can be defined by an area surrounded by a contour at further high speed.
Reference division points P1-P9 are set on a contour curve 2 of a closed planar pattern from definition data of the contour curve 2, and contour edges Enm (n and m are natural numbers) connecting adjacent reference division points to each other are set. An internal edge Et inside the closed planar pattern is set by mutually connecting, among the contour edges Enm, one end points Ps and Pe of two contour edges adjacent to each other while sharing the other end point Pc, and an internal edge is further set by mutually connecting, among the contour edges and set internal edges, one end points of two edges adjacent to each other while sharing the other end point. This processing is repeated to create a polygon model from the set contour edges and internal edges. The internal area of a pattern defined by the contour is filled with polygons, whereby the closed planer pattern can be drawn at high speed.
