Abstract:
To provide a protection structure of a submerged pump which prevents foreign objects from being caught in a shaft sealing part, and to provide a protection method.SOLUTION: In a submerged pump, a shaft sealing part 4 which prevents ingress of water into a motor body part 2 is provided between the motor body part 2 and a motor shaft 3 which rotates around an axis. A protection structure of the submerged pump has: a cover member 5 which is provided so as to cover the shaft sealing part 4 while securing a space s between itself and the shaft sealing part 4; and a delivery system 6 which sends a liquid to the space s between the shaft sealing part 4 and the cover member 5. The space s is filled with the liquid having a pressure higher than a water pressure at a water depth at which the submerged pump is provided. Further, in a protection method of the submerged pump, the cover member 5 is provided so as to cover the shaft sealing part 4 while securing a space s between itself and the shaft sealing part 4 and the delivery system 6 sends the liquid to the space s between the shaft sealing part 4 and the cover member 5 to fill the space s with the liquid having the fluid pressure higher than the water pressure at the water depth at which the submerged pump is provided.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
