PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an on-demand type publication system having high added values enabling a user to purchase a book by a simple procedure and purchase an original book of the user himself (or herself).
SOLUTION: The publication system is provided with a publication data base registering publication contents, an edition parts library registering edition parts to be used for user edition, a management server for managing the publication data base, the edition parts library and user's accesses, and a publication center for receiving and printing out data from the data base and the library in accordance with an instruction from the management server. At the time of receiving a publication request from a user, identification data are applied from the management server to the user to give access right to the data base and the library. Thereby the user can edit data by combining data recorded in the data base and the library by using the terminal, the center prints out the edited data and the print is provided to the user.
