Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the construction cost of the whole pump system by reducing the size of a pump suction water tank and increasing the flow speed, while keeping stable operation.
SOLUTION: In this pump apparatus having a pump suction pipe 4 and a bell mouth 3 installed in a pump suction water tank 1 and a vortex generation preventing device, the vortex generating preventing device is so constructed that a cylindrical member 6 is disposed with a space from the pump suction pipe on the outer periphery of the pump suction pipe 4 to form a passage 7 between the pump suction pipe and the cylindrical member, many holes 8 are formed on the whole periphery of the cylindrical member 6, and water in the pump suction water tank 1 is let flow in through an upstream hole of the pump suction pipe 4 or the hole closer to the upstream side wall, and flow out through a downstream hole or the hole closer to the downstream side wall.
