To provide a punching die capable of reliably preventing slug-pulling regardless of the material of a metal plate.
A punching die 1 comprises: a punching die 2; and a die 3 which performs punching of the metal plate in cooperation with the punching die 2. In a die 3, the opening opposite to the punch 2 is formed into a cutting edge 34 and includes: a first tapered part 31, which is radially reduced as it goes away from the cutting edge 34; and a second tapered part 33, which is continuously connected with the first tapered part 31 and radially expanded as it goes away from the cutting edge 34. The first tapered part 31 has tanθ within the range of 0.01/7-0.04 (wherein θ is an inclination angle of the first tapered part 31 with respect to the axial direction thereof). A straight part 32, into which pulled slugs are pushed by the punch 2, may be provided between the first tapered part 31 and the second tapered part 33.
