To provide a method for manufacturing granular mold powder for continuous cast of a steel, which can prevent abnormal spray due to clogging of a pressure nozzle, which can improve a collection rate of the granular mold powder by reducing adhesion of slurry droplets sprayed inside a drying tower, which can eliminate the need to replace the pressure nozzle during operation to thereby enable saving of human power, and which has little possibility of whitening due to oxidation of carbon black in the granular mold powder even if the slurry droplets are adhered inside the dying tower, when manufacturing the granular mold powder with the pressure nozzle.
The method for manufacturing granular mold powder includes spraying a mold powder raw slurry downward from the pressure nozzle provided at an upper portion of the drying tower while introducing hot air from the upper portion of the drying tower to discharge the hot air to a lower portion of the drying tower, so that the slurry droplets are dried as the slurry droplets move in parallel with the hot air, and collecting obtained granular mold powder from the lower portion of the drying tower.
