PURPOSE: To provide a pair of gas recovery punching pliers and an exchange type gas extracting needle in which even if a needle is broken, it can be exchanged for a different new needle by adopting a gas extracting needle that can be exchanged.

CONSTITUTION: The tip column portion of a lower jaw member 3 possesses a needle hitting relief hole 3c and a piping receiving portion 3d of a circular arclike groove. The tip column portion of an upper jaw member 1 possesses a penetrating oblong hole 1a and a stepped oblong hole 1b. On the lower side of the upper jaw member 1, a needle fitting portion 12 is fixed through a tightening bolt 9 and with a biting washer 11 interposed. A needle head 12 possesses a screw hole 12a into which the screw portion 9a of the tightening bolt 9 is screwed; a needle fitting screw hole 12d that is piercingly provided in this axial direction and communicates with an inner space S; and an exchange type gas extracting needle 20 screwed into this. A needle position regulating mechanism is made up of the oblong held 1a and the bolt 9.
