To provide a quake-absorbing device which is inexpensive and excellent in reliability.
The quake absorbing device for absorbing the quake of a building by fixing an upper structure 21 of the building normally to a foundation 20 and releasing the fixed state of the upper structure 21 to the foundation 20 when an earthquake generation signal from an earthquake detection sensor 14 is received. The quake-absorbing device has a fixing member 7 fixed to the upper structure 21 and having a pin insertion hole 7a and a fixing structure 1 fixed to the foundation 20 and having a fixing pin 3 moved up by hydraulic pressure to be fitted in the pin insertion hole 7a normally, extracted from the pin insertion hole 7a to make the building in the quake-absorbing state at the time of an earthquake and urged downward. The vertical movement of the fixing pin 3 is controlled by the water stream control circuit 10 having a water feed/discharge pipe line 11 for supplying city water to the structure 1 and draining the city water in the fixed structure 1 on the basis of an earthquake generation signal.
