Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a quasi-animal machine, called as 'pet robot' or 'mascot robot', etc., which is usable for various purpose, in regard to the quasi-animal machine having an information management function of a personal computer or consumer game machine to perform prescribed actions.
SOLUTION: A quasi-animal machine have communication mode performing action based on in indication from a main apparatus, while it is connected to the main apparatus, and autonomy mode performing acting unrelated to the main apparatus while it is not connected to the main apparatus. The quasi- animal machine is provided with a connection detector means to detect connection to the main apparatus and a mode switcher means to switch in the communication mode and the autonomy mode based on the detection result by the detector means.
