Title:
QUENCHED HIGH SILICON STEEL THIN STRIP EXCELLENT IN MAGNETIC CHARACTERISTICS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5928559
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled thin strip having excellent magnetic characteristics and especially remarkably reduced in iron loss, by specifying the plate thickness of the product of a quenched high silicon steel strip and the particle size thereof after annealing.

CONSTITUTION: Molten steel containing 2.0W8.0wt% Si is directly formed into a plate by a continuous quenching method wherein molten steel is directly injected onto a rapidly moving cooled body from a nozzle to be rapidly solidified and the plate thickness at this time is adjusted to 40W180μm. In the next step, the surface of the high silicon steel strip is cleaned to be further coated with high m.p. oxide as a release agent and the treated steel strip is wound up in a coil shape which is, in turn, annealed at about 1,100W1,300°C to adjust an average crystal particle size after annealing to 2W10mm. By this method, a high silicon steel thin strip having an aggregation structure of which the (100) surface is aligned and excellent in magnetic characteristics is obtained.
