To provide a lead for safely enjoying walk with a pet without applying a load on the pet.

The pet lead 15 includes a string-shaped front lead part 1 having a detachable attaching tool 5 at the pet side and connected to a rear rod part at the other end. The rod part has a rod-shaped lead part 2 at the front side and an opening 13 formed by branching the rod and enabling insertion of a hand or a grip part 3 having a band fixed at both ends for gripping with a hand inserted between the band and the rod. A rod 14 is protruded from the back of the grip for taking weight balance of the lead as a whole using the grip part 3 as a balance point.
