Abstract:
To provide a rack guide which can stably support a rack bar over a long time while preventing occurrence of striking sound, and to provide a gear mechanism using the rack guide.SOLUTION: A rack guide 30 slidably supports a rack bar 20 formed with a rack gear 21 which engages with a pinion gear 11 and guides the rack bar 20 which moves in response to rotation of the pinion gear 11 in an axis O2 direction of the rack bar. The rack guide 30 includes at least three projection parts 33a to 33c which protrude from an outer peripheral surface 314 along an axis O3 direction of the rack guide and slidably contact with an inner wall surface 78 of a housing 70. These projection parts 33a to 33c are disposed at positions which are asymmetrical with respect to the axis O3 of the rack guide 30.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
