Abstract:
To provide a rack guide which can stably support a rack bar while preventing occurrence of striking sound, and to provide a gear mechanism using the rack guide.SOLUTION: A rack guide 30 includes at least three projection parts 34 which protrude from an outer peripheral surface 314 of a pedestal 31 along an axis O3 direction of the rack guide 30. Each projection part 34 has: a pair of elastically deformable arms (first slide parts) 341 which slides on an inner wall surface 78 of a cylinder case part 72 of a housing 70; and an elastically deformable columnar part (a second slide part) 342 located at the radial inner side relative to the pair of arms 341. The columnar part 342 slides on the inner wall surface 78 when the pair of arms 341 comes close to the inner wall surface 78 of the cylinder case part 72 of the housing 70 to cause significant elastic deformation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
