To provide a rack for an image forming device which is usable in either of cases wherein the image forming device is applied to the rack and not applied, and excellent in rack stability and has small installation area even when the image forming device is not applied since a conventional image forming device rack requires large installation area and should be large when used exclusively as a mount base for a scanner while a printer is detached from the rack.
The rack 10 has a shelf part 31 where peripheral equipment of the image forming device can be mounted, columns 21 which support the shelf part 31, and a base part 11 which supports the columns 21. The shelf part 21, columns 21, and base part 11 form a nearly U shape in side elevation view. The positions where the columns 21 are fitted to the base part 11 can be changed in the front-rear directions. The center of gravity of the rack is adjusted by changing the fitting positions to make the rack stable.
