To solve the problem of a conventional radar device, which transmits a radio wave toward a target and receives a signal directly reflected from the target to detect and track a target signal, that reception of a multipath signal, which is a reflection wave from the target that has been reflected by the surface of the sea or land or the like before arrival, can cause a false lock-on, where a radar device recognizes the target in a direction different from a direction of the target and tracks the multipath signal instead of the target signal.
Apparent distance to a target projected in the altitudinal direction is computed from distance and angle information of the target obtained from a radar device and is compared with guidance device altitude information obtained from an external sensor. Since the distance projected in the altitude direction is greater than altitude of the radar device for multipath signals, multipath signals can be discriminated from a target signal by setting a threshold at the altitude of the radar device.
