Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an FM radio broadcasting system which uses a multiplex subcarrier including audio and text information. SOLUTION: An FM transmitting station has 1st and 2nd digital data signals as the source of a main program signal, and they are modulated with the frequencies of subcarriers 1 and 2, mixed with the main program signal, and sent. The sent signal is received and demodulated by a reception device 40 which has an FM receiving circuit 44 and an FM modulating circuit 34. The demodulated main program audio frequency signal is applied to a speaker 52 through a filter/de-emphasis circuit 48 and an amplifier 50 to supply an audio output. A 1st subcarrier frequency signal is demodulated by a 1st subcarrier frequency generating device and applied to a 1st input port 72 of a computer 70, and a digital signal of the text part of the transmitted signal is supplied. Similarly, a 2nd carrier frequency signal is demodulated and then the obtained index digital data signal is applied to a 2nd input port 74 of the computer.
