To provide a rail head part reprofiling machine capable of following to slack and meander, if any, of a rail by a simple constitution, and easily performing various kinds of reprofiling works by using a grinding belt which rotates in a direction of the rail, and a self-propelled rail head part profiling device.

A rail head part reprofiling machine includes a plurality of pressing rollers 24e1 to 24e4 having differently shaped pressing surfaces inside a grinding belt 24d installed to be suspended peripherally between a pair of rotating pulleys 24c1, 24c2 arranged at a predetermined space in the longitudinal direction of a rail R and provided with an abrasive material on its surface. One pressing roller is selected from the plurality of pressing rollers 24e1 to 24e4 while the grinding belt 24d is rotated by the pair of rotating pulleys 24c1, 24c2, and the grinding belt 24d is pushed out in the direction of the rail R by the pressing surface of the selected one pressing roller. Thereby, a grinding part of the surface of the grinding belt 24d presses a head of the rail R to reprofile the head of the rail R.
