Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce a rapidly solidified metal foil uniformized in characteristics in the width direction of the foil and excellent in soft-magnetic properties at a low cost.
CONSTITUTION: This foil is a rapidly solidified metal foil having an alloy composition represented by (FeaSibBcCd)100-xMx [where the symbols (a), (b), (c), and (d) satisfy, by atomic%, 70≤a≤86, 1≤b≤19, 7≤c≤20, 0≤d≤4, and a+b+c+d=100, M is at least one or more elements among Al, S, Ti, Zr, Sb, P, Cu, As, and Zn, and (x) is 0.003-0.15wt.%). Further, the difference in the iron loss between the width-direction end and central part of the foil, at 1.3T magnetic flux density and 50Hz frequency, is regulated to ≤0.3W/kg. This foil can be produced by controlling roll temp. so that prescribed distribution is formed with respect to the width direction, at the time of producing a metal foil 6 by rapidly solidifying the molten alloy on a rapidly rotating roll 1.
