Title:
RARE EARTH ALLOY POWDER AND ITS BONDED MAGNET
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH07197102
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain powder having excellent magnetic characteristics by subjecting rare earth alloy powder consisting of specific ratios of rare earth metals, etc., and having specific average grain sizes to a heat treatment at a specific temp.

CONSTITUTION: The component compsn. of the rare earth alloy powder is expressed by RxFe100-(x+y+z)MyAz. R is ≥1 kinds of the rare earth metals of Y and lanthanides; M is ≥1 kinds of V, Ti, Mo, Zr, Hf, Nb, Ta, Cr, W and Al; A is one or two kinds of N and C; (x), (y) (z) are within a range of 5≤x≤15, 1≤y≤20, 1≤z≤30 by atomic per cent. The average grain size is specified to 10 to 200μm and the powder is subjected to the heat treatment at 400 to 700°C. Fe is partly substd. with ≤30atm.% Co and/or Ni. The bonded magnet is formed by bonding the rare earth alloy powder with an org. binder or metal binder. As a result, the reduction of an equipment cost is attained.
