Abstract:
To provide a rare earth magnet processing method capable of suppressing deterioration of magnetic characteristics when processing is performed with laser light.SOLUTION: A rare earth magnet processing method includes a step of processing an R-T-B rare earth magnet by irradiating the R-T-B rare earth magnet with laser light, and a step of heat-treating the magnet after the processing. The heat treatment includes a step A of setting the temperature of a magnet at 400°C or lower, a step B of holding the magnet at a temperature T1 within a range of 400°C or higher and 700°C or lower for a certain time after the step A, and a step C of setting the temperature of the magnet at less than 400°C after the step B. The temperature of the magnet is not allowed to reach more than 700°C between the step A and the step B. The temperature of the magnet is not allowed to reach more than 700°C between the step B and the step C. There is no step of bringing the magnet to a temperature higher than 700°C after the step C.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
