To provide a compact reaction device which can efficiently supply a required heat for reaction to a raw material, has a simple configuration, and can be installed in a small space.
A reaction vessel 4 with reaction piping 20, is subdivided into a preheating region 13 and a reaction region 14 by a partition 12. A heating medium is supplied to the upstream of the reaction region from a supply pipe 30 in a raw material running direction as a reference, and then, is sent to the downstream of the preheating region, in parallel with the flow of the raw material, from the downstream of the reaction region through a communication pipe 33. After that, the heating medium preheats the raw material by flowing counter to the raw material etc. and discharged from the upstream of the preheating region through a discharge pipe 34. Since the raw material receives the efficient supply of the heat from the hot heating medium under endothermic reaction from early reaction time, the reaction efficiency of the raw material improves and thus its efficient preheating occurs right before the entry into the reaction region.
