Abstract:
PURPOSE: To develop a method to reactivate a deactivated catalyst caused by accumulation of a coke or by poisoning with a sulfur or a severely deactivated catalyst, and recover the activity comparable to that of the newly produced catalyst.
CONSTITUTION: In a reactivating method of a deactivated catalyst containing a zeolite carrying a noble metal of group VIII of the periodic table, especially a catalyst for producing aromatic compound, after the deactivated catalyst is treated with decoking in a reducing condition or an oxidizing condition, the deactivated catalyst is treated with a halogen of liquid phase and then is burned to reactivate the catalyst.
