Title:
REACTIVE POLYFUCTIONAL AZO DYE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH08333518
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a novel dye which is adapted for dyeing or printing hydroxyl-containing or amido-containing materials and exhibits good wettability and light fastness characteristics.

The dye is of the formula: D1-N=N-K1-Y-K2-N=N-D2 {wherein Y represents an aliphatic or aromatic bifunctional acyl group; K1 and K2 independently represent aminobenzene, aminonaphthalene or the like; and D1 and D2 independently represent -X-SO2-B-D- [wherein D represents (substituted) benzene or (substituted) naphthalene; and X represents CH=CH2 or CH2CH2Z (wherein Z represents a substituent capable of being removed under alkaline conditions)]}, e.g. a dye of formula I. In order to obtain the dye, azo components of the formula: D1-NH2 and the formula: D2-NH2 may be diazotized, followed by coupling of the resultant diazonium salt solution with a coupling component of the formula: H-K1-Y-K2-H, or aminoazo dyes of the formula: D1-N=N-K1-H and the formula: D2-N=N-K2-H and a bifunctional acyl compound of the formula II or the like may be condensed.
