PURPOSE: To obtain a forming having high strength, excellent in shape- retainability and biodegradability by soil microorganisms and capable of being biologically decomposed completely in a short time by mixing wheat bran with gelatin and forming into a specified shape.
CONSTITUTION: (A) Wheat bran is homogeneously mixed with (B) a gelatin solution obtained by dispersing 0.05-10wt.% (preferably, 0.1-10wt.%) of gelatin powder in water and heating the dispersion to 40 to 100°C to dissolve it and the mixture is formed into a specified shape such as a garden aid of a seedling raising pot, a rice nursery sheet for paddy rice, etc., a toilet and a food packing container of an egg pack, etc. The forming is carried out by using a hot-press plate heated up to 40-100°C or molds of protrusion and recess of room temperature and pressing under a pressure of 1-80kg/cm2 (especially preferably 5-20kg/cm2) followed by drying at room temperature.
