Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide protection of equipment such as a control rod drive device (FMCRD) installed in a lower dry well in a reactor container by preventing water from flowing into the lower dry well.
CONSTITUTION: A dry-well communicating tube 8 located in a reactor container 3 is extended to near the upper portion of a pressure suppression pool 6. A vent-pipe communicating hole 18 leading to a vent pipe 9 is provided in a position lower than the upper end of the communicating tube 8 and higher than the normal water level inside the pressure suppression pool 6.
