Title:
REAR-FORK ATTACHMENT STRUCTURE OF MOTORCYCLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3898356
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the degree of freedom in designing a motorcycle by attaching a rear fork supporting a rear wheel to a vehicle-body frame such that the rear fork is swingable in the vertical direction and movable by a fixed distance to the axle direction, and interposing an elastic body between the vehicle-body frame and the rear fork.
SOLUTION: A through hole 41 is formed in a front attachment portion 31 of a rear fork 12, and the through hole 41 has a large diameter hole 42. A needle bearing 43 is fitted in the through hole 41, and an O-ring 44 as an elastic body is contained in the large diameter hole 42. A side collar 47 is placed against both end faces of a collar 46, and an oil seal 48 is mounted in the through hole 41 between the outer periphery of the side collar 47 and the large diameter hole 42. The front attachment portion 31 of the rear fork 12 is interposed between the side collars 47 such that the outer surfaces of the side collars 47 face the insides of motorcycle-body frames 2L, 2R, respectively. Thus, the degree of freedom in designing a motorcycle can be increased.
