Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide rearview mirror to return a mirror housing to an ordinary drive position by moving in one-way regardless of a direction of displacement of the mirror housing.
SOLUTION: A rearview mirror for a vehicle is provided with two drive couplings comprising a first member 36 to be moved coupled to a support member 32 by the support member 32 and a first clutch means 35; a second member 64 to be moved coupled to the support member 32 by a second clutch means 68; and an elastic movement lock 114. An electric motor 102 is coupled to a drive means 70 to effect operation so that a relative angular motion for a vertical shaft 52 is created between the first and second members 36 and 64 to be moved. A force necessary enough to allow the occurrence of a slide to the second clutch means 68 is decreased to a value lower than a force necessary enough for the occurrence of a slide to the first clutch means 35.
