The receiving apparatus comprises: an EVM calculation part 101 which calculates an EVM (Error Vector Magnitude) value of the inputted signal; a control part 102 which determines whether or not the number of calculation times of the EVM value is reduced, based on comparison between the EVM value and a predetermined range containing a threshold value used when switching processing depending on the EVM value; and a data reduction part 103 which controls calculation intervals of the EVM value in the EVM calculation part 101 based on a determination result obtained by the control part 102.
