PURPOSE: To improve possibility to receive broadcast stations broadcasting the same program by setting the frequency of a reception station as a new reception frequency in the case of detecting the presence of the reception, station where reception PI data coincides with holding PI data.
CONSTITUTION: The processor of a controller 13 fetches AF data and PI data of broadcast wave receiving at present, and stores them in memory 14. The processor monitors output from a station detection circuit 17, and fetches the reception level of the same network station receiving at present from a level detection circuit 16 when the reception station is present. When the level exceeds a preset level, the processor fetches the PI data of the reception station, and judges whether or not the following fetched PI data coincides with the PI data held previously. When coincidence is obtained, sound mute is cancelled by turning off a muting circuit 18, and the frequency of the reception station fetched this time is set as the new reception frequency. In such a manner, it follows that the same PI station in the same network station group can be received.
