Title:
Rechargeable battery
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP6239251
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery which makes it possible: to suppress an internal short circuit; to suppress the reduction in a charging efficiency owing to the occurrence of hydrogen; and to prevent the lowering of a discharge capacity.SOLUTION: A secondary battery comprises: an electrolyte solvent containing metal ions; and a negative electrode body. In the secondary battery, a negative electrode surface 24 of the negative electrode body 6 which is in contact with the electrolyte solvent includes electrode regions 26-1 to 26-n having a fixed width of 1-50 μm, and an insulator region 25 formed from an insulator. The negative electrode surface 24 is formed so that the electrode region 26-1 to 26-n are spaced apart from one another by a fixed distance of 1-20 μm through the insulator region 25. In the secondary battery, during the time of charging thereof, the metal ions are transported to the electrode regions 26-1 to 26-n at a high efficiency, and the deposition of metal dendrite on the electrode regions 26-1 to 26-n is reduced. Therefore, as to the secondary battery, the discharge capacity is prevented from being lowered, and the negative electrode body is prevented from being short-circuited with a counter electrode.
