To provide a reciprocating shaft sealing device having improved sealable performance.

The reciprocating shaft sealing device comprises an oil lip 12 and a dust lip 13 directed to mutually opposite sides in the axial direction. On the oil lip 12, a main edge 121 and a sub edge 122 are formed near the distal end and on the proximal side 123, respectively. On the dust lip 13, an anti-dust seal edge 131 is formed. Between the sub edge 122 and the anti-dust seal edge 131, a second sub edge 133 is formed. A contact angle of an inclined face 133a of the second sub edge 133 directed to the side of the sub edge 122 to a shaft 2 is greater than a contact angle of an inclined face 133b directed to the side of the anti-dust seal edge 131. The second sub edge 133 is formed on a middle portion 17 between the oil lip 12 and the dust lip 13, joined to a metal ring 11, or on the side of the dust lip 13 therebeyond.
