To minimize the kinds of molds in the equipment for reclaiming tires.
The tread 24 of a base tire (used tire casing) is removed by buffing and the like, then the additional belt 28 having a width greater than that of the base tire is attached, thereafter the unvulcanized tread rubber 30 is attached on the additional belt 28, and vulcanization is conducted with the vulcanization mold 32 for reclaiming tires. The vulcanization mold 32 used is the one that is provided with a tread forming surface wider than that of the vulcanization mold that has been used in vulcanizing/molding the new pneumatic tire 10. Accordingly, the tread width of the reclaimed tire, namely a tire reclaimed from the pneumatic tire 10, becomes wider than that of the new pneumatic tire 10. Because the tread width of the reclaimed tire can be set greater than that of the new tire, even a base tire narrower in the tread width can be vulcanized with the vulcanization mold 32 having the wide tread forming surface 34 and the kinds of the vulcanization mold 32 can be reduced.
