To solve such a problem that improvement of image quality in a conventional recorder causes a capacity of a print buffer necessary for storing high resolution recording data to be enlarged.
Scanning of recording for forming dots based on dot placement positions of recording data is determined with respect to the recording data indicative of the respective dot placement position of each pixel, recording positions for forming the dots are determined based on the determined scanning of recording, and then the recording is performed on a recording medium according to the determined recording positions. As a result, it is possible to perform the recording of which the resolution is higher than that of the dot placement of the recording data. As the recording data having the resolution lower than the recording resolution is stored in the print buffer, it is possible to suppress the capacity of the print buffer and to provide a method of recording an image capable of realizing the high resolution recording.
