PURPOSE: To utilize the margin space effectively without using complicated control nor processes by a method wherein a recording paper having been subjected to recording is cut, and then useful fixed information is recorded on the margin space at the rear end of the recording paper, in the recording paper used on facsimiles or the like.

CONSTITUTION: The recording paper 8 delivered from a roll 1 is fed forward by driving rollers 2 and a press roller 4 which are driven by a paper feed signal S4 and a clutch driving signal S2. The recording is conducted on the paper 8 by a recording head 5 which is driven by a picture signal S1. Simultaneously with the completion of the recording, the signals S2 and S4 are turned off, a cutter 3 operates to cut the recording paper 8, and delivery roller 9 start to deliver the cut paper. At this time, if a margin signal S7 is fed to a fixed picture information generator 10, the latter outputs as the picture signal S1 a picture signal S6 representing the specified fixed information, and the fixed information is recorded on that rear end part of the recording paper between the recording head 5 and the cutter 3 which would otherwise remain as the blank margin.
