Abstract:
To realize enhanced accuracy of a small gap, in a configuration of adjusting a gap between a recording head and recording paper by causing a cam member to slide.SOLUTION: Gap adjusting means comprises: a slide member which is provided on a carriage, and slides on a guide member along with movement of the carriage; and a cam member which is provided on the carriage, and moves relatively with respect to a housing and the slide member in a first axial direction so that the housing of the carriage is displaced in a direction of varying a gap. When the housing contacts the slide member directly and not via the cam member, at least a state with a minimal gap is formed, and when the cam member slides in the first axial direction from the state with the minimal gap, the cam member is interposed between the slide member and the housing such that the gap expands.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11
