To improve the accuracy of height positioning with respect to the recording part of a recording surface by constructing a carrier roller in such a manner that a roller to be brought into contact with the recording surface side of a recording medium is formed to be a hard roller made of metal or the like and a roller to be brought into contact with the opposite side of the recording medium is formed to be an elastic roller made of rubber or the like.
A first capstan roller (KR) 61 and a second KR 62 (grip roller) are formed to be elastic rollers (e.g. having hardness of 60 degrees) made of rubber and each have a length matching the width of a card C. Small width first and second pinch rollers (PR) 64 and 65 as a pair of carrier rollers are supported in the upper sides of the center parts of the KR 61 and 62 by first and second pinch shafts 64a and 65a extended back and forth so as to be freely rotated. Both PRs 64 and 65 are hard rollers made of metal and constituted of barrel type rollers having small contact areas with the recording medium. Thus, the card C is highly efficiently carried with high positioning accuracy and accurate recording is performed by the recording part.
