PURPOSE: To automatically set a sound volume for every recording medium at the time of a performance by currently fetching a reproducing level in response to a reproducing level storing command and storing correspondingly to the identification information of the recording medium.

CONSTITUTION: The sound volume of a speaker 9 is decided by the reproducing level set by an electronic volume 7. The setting of this reproducing level is executed by a controller 10. The controller 10 is operated by the respective keys of an operating part 11, at the time of adjusting and setting the reproducing level, and when the key 11b is pressed, the value of the volume 7 is stored in the RAM of a memory 12 together with a disk number. At the time of the performance, the sound volume is set automatically in the reproducing level stored correspondingly to the disk number. In a device for automatically exchanging and playing the recording medium, even when a recording level is different between the recording media, the reproducing level is stored so as to previously make the sound volume constant, thereby, an uneasy feeling of changing the sound volume for every change of the recording medium is eliminated.
