To provide a recording paper which can hardly generate an image disorder such as color unevenness attributed to a variation of back tension and produce a high quality level/high definition recording image of a silver salt photograph type.
This recording paper comprises a resin-coated paper, an ink-receptive layer formed on one of the surfaces of the resin-coated paper and a back coat layer with 0.8 to 8 g/m2coating build-up, formed on the other surface. In addition, the paper M is placed on a paper loading surface 1a with 14° inclination angle in the way that the paper loading surface 1a comes into contact with a coating surface of the back coat layer, and the paper M is fed, in a horizontal position, to a recording head 3, while a constant back tension is applied to the tilted paper M reversely Q to a paper feed direction P. In this case, the relationship of F=aT+F0(provided, however, that -0.5≤a≤0) is established among the magnitude T of the back tension, the paper feed F of the paper M in such a state that the back tension is applied, and the paper feed F0of the paper M in such a state that no back tension is applied.
