In a recovering method for non-oxide based ceramic grinding powder in which non-oxide based ceramic grinding powder contained in the abrasive liquid exhausted in grinding work of non-oxide based ceramic is recovered, after adding oil to a grinding liquid and scattering the oil evenly in the grinding liquid, the non-oxide based ceramic grinding powder is deposited onto the oil. Then, phase separation is carried out, whereby the non-oxide based ceramic grinding powder is recovered in the oil phase.
